GD Birla Suspends One Of The Accused who Molestate Of 4-Year-Old Girl
The West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights (WBCPCR) has also sought the arrest of the principal of the GD Birla Centre for Education.
Principal Sharmila Nath could have dealt with the matter in a sensible manner, WBCPCR Chairperson Ananya Chatterjee Chakraborti told PTI.
"On the contrary, she (Nath) denied the incident first. Under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act, she is also an offender. The arrest of the principal is much needed. I have spoken to the Kolkata Police commissioner and told him that she must be arrested," she said.
Chakraborti also asserted that the commission would initiate legal action against the school management for shutting down the institution for an indefinite period.
"They (the school management) cannot jeopardise the future of the 7,000 students studying there. We will definitely take legal action against the management of the school for this," said Chakraborti, who, along with other WBCPCR members, paid a visit to the GD Birla Centre for Education in south Kolkata this morning.
The WBCPCR has also sought the medical report of the child victim from the police.
Two physical training teachers of the school were arrested last week for their alleged role in sexually abusing the nursery student during the school hours.

Barack Obama's Mosque Duty
His first intervention, at a White House dinner for Ramadan on Friday, was an unqualified defense of both religious liberty and religious tolerance, implying that opposition to a mosque near Ground Zero violated both. In his second intervention, in an unplanned exchange with a reporter on Saturday, he insisted that he was not commenting "on the wisdom" of building the mosque, merely affirming the right to a construction permit. It was not a contradiction, but it was a marked change in tone. Obama managed to collect all the political damage for taking an unpopular stand without gaining credit for political courage.

But being hapless does not make the president wrong.
Though columnists are loath to admit it, there is a difference between being a commentator and being president. Pundits have every right to raise questions about the construction of an Islamic center near Ground Zero. Where is the funding coming from? What are the motives of its supporters? Is the symbolism insensitive?
But the view from the Oval Office differs from the view from a keyboard. A president does not merely have opinions; he has duties to the Constitution and to the citizens he serves -- including millions of Muslim citizens. His primary concern is not the sifting of sensitivities but the protection of the American people and the vindication of their rights.
By this standard, Obama had no choice but the general path he took. No president, of any party or ideology, could tell millions of Americans that their sacred building desecrates American holy ground. This would understandably be taken as a presidential assault on the deepest beliefs of his fellow citizens. It would be an unprecedented act of sectarianism, alienating an entire faith tradition from the American experiment. If a church or synagogue can be built on a commercial street in Lower Manhattan, declaring a mosque off-limits would officially equate Islam with violence and terrorism. No president would consider making such a statement. And those commentators who urge the president to do so fundamentally misunderstand the presidency itself.

An inclusive rhetoric toward Islam is sometimes dismissed as mere political correctness. Having spent some time crafting such rhetoric for a president, I can attest that it is actually a matter of national interest. It is appropriate -- in my view, required -- for a president to draw a clear line between "us" and "them" in the global conflict with Muslim militants. I wish Obama would do it with more vigor. But it matters greatly where that line is drawn. The militants hope, above all else, to provoke conflict between the West and Islam -- to graft their totalitarian political manias onto a broader movement of Muslim solidarity. America hopes to draw a line that isolates the politically violent and those who tolerate political violence -- creating solidarity with Muslim opponents and victims of radicalism.
How precisely is our cause served by treating the construction of a non-radical mosque in Lower Manhattan as the functional equivalent of defiling a grave? It assumes a civilizational conflict instead of defusing it. Symbolism is indeed important in the war against terrorism. But a mosque that rejects radicalism is not a symbol of the enemy's victory; it is a prerequisite for our own.
The federal government has a response to American mosques taken over by advocates of violence. It investigates them, freezes their assets and charges their leaders. It does not urge zoning decisions that express a general discomfort with Islam itself.
Here again, this debate illustrates a gap in perspective. A commentator can speak with obvious sincerity of preventing American hallowed ground from being overshadowed by a mosque. A president not only serves Muslim citizens, not only commands Muslims in the American military, but also leads a coalition that includes Iraqi and Afghan Muslims who risk death each day fighting Islamic radicalism at our side. How could he possibly tell them that their place of worship inherently symbolizes the triumph of terror?
There are many reasons to criticize Obama's late, vacillating response to the Manhattan mosque, and perhaps even to criticize this particular mosque. But those who want a president to assert that any mosque would defile the neighborhood near Ground Zero are asking him to undermine the war on terrorism. A war on Islam would make a war on terrorism impossible.

Orionid Meteor Shower October 2009 Full Bloom Tonight

For Southern Hemisphere Observers
HISTORY :

To view this shower one must go to a safe dark place in the morning and look toward the constellation Orion. Orionids get their name from the meteor shower’s radiant which is located near Orion, the Hunter.
WHEN TO WATCH ?
For each shower, I list the shower's name and a "Predicted Maximum". This is when THE SHOWER should be at its maximum activity, whether or not you are in a position to view it. If this maximum time happens to coincide with a time when it's clear and dark and the radiant is high in your sky, you'll probably be a happy camper.
These times are generally valid for all of North America and are given as local time (i.e., you don't have to worry about converting for your time zone). It may be worth looking up the beginning of astronomical twilight for your location on a given date; this will give you an idea of how late you may observe into the prime morning hours.
I’m looking forward to this event because it marks the start of more major meteor activity in the last part of the year. The Orionids is considered a major meteor shower and could produce 25 to 35 visible meteors per hour. Please note that meteor showers are best seen in the morning before dawn so one should be observing Wednesday morning October 21 to have the best chance to see the most meteors not Wednesday Night.

Sultan Kosen Officially Crowned The World's Tallest
Sultan Kosen from Turkey stands in front of Tower Bridge in London. He was officially crowned the world's tallest man Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009 after his Ukrainian rival dropped out of the running by refusing to be measured. Guinness World Records said Kosen stands at 8 feet, 1 inch tall.

Standing at 8 feet, 1 inch tall, however, popping out to the shops is a little harder.
“I can’t fit in a normal car,” Kosen said. “I can’t go shopping like normal people. I have to get clothes made specially, and I don’t always get what’s fashionable. And going through doors I always have to bend down.”
But, newly crowned by Guinness World Records as the tallest man in the world, Kosen, from Mardin in southeast Turkey, is hoping that life will become a little easier.
In his own words, “The first thing I want is a car I can fit into,” he said. “More than that, I want to get married. It’s really difficult to find a girlfriend. They are usually scared of me.”. He smiles.
"He’s like a tower on legs,” said Marley Bradbury, 9. “He probably needs lampposts as walking sticks.” Job Henderson, 11, was “shocked” at Kosen’s feet which, at 14.3 inches long, are also officially the world’s largest — as are his hands, at 10.8 inches long. Neither child wanted to grow up to be so big. “You couldn’t really run or jump or anything,” Marley said. But as a child, Kosen was no taller than his peers. “At 10 years old they noticed I was getting really tall. I went to the doctor and discovered I had a tumor and it was causing me to grow.” His pituitary gland, damaged by the tumor, was producing too much growth hormone and Kosen became taller and taller. When other children were little more than 4 feet, he was already well over 6 feet tall. Meet some other tall people who can face up Sultan Kosen:-

Gabriel Estêvão Monjane (1944 – 1990) is one of only a dozen individuals in medical history to have reached 8 feet or more in height. He remains perhaps the tallest African yet known.
Born in Manjacaze, Mozambique, Monjane’s abnormal growth started soon after birth. By the time he was 17, Mojane stood 7 feet 10 inches. He joined a Portuguese circus around this age, and was billed as 8 feet 8.3 inches. When measured officially in 1987, Mojane was attributed with the height of 8 feet and three quarters of an inch. He also weighed 29 stone 12lbs.

Väinö Myllyrinne, (1909 - 1963) was an acromegalic giant who was at one time (1961-3) the world’s tallest person. He stood 222 cm (7 feet 3.5 inches) and weighed 197 kg (31 stone) at the age of 21, but experienced a second phase of growth in his late thirties, attaining a height of 247 cm (8 feet 1¼ inches).

Leonid Ivanovych Stadnyk (born 1971 in Ukrainian) is a man who is formerly listed as the world’s tallest living man according to Guinness World Records 2008. He is 2.57 m (8 ft 5 in) tall.
On August 20, 2008, editor-in-chief of Guinness World Records, Craig Glenday, announced that the title of world’s tallest man returned to China’s Bao Xishun after Ukrainian Leonid Stadnyk refused to be measured under new guidelines, which required him to be independently measured by Guinness World Records adjudicators.

Robert Pershing Wadlow (1918 – 1940) was a man who, to this day, is the tallest person in medical history for whom there is irrefutable evidence. He is often known as the “Alton Giant” because of his Alton, Illinois hometown. Wadlow was noted for having the largest and broadest hands ever in recorded history being capable to hide a 2-litre bottle of soda in them easily.

Facebook Hit 300 Million !!

Facebook hit 250 million users precisely two months ago, and 200 million users just three months before that.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg also said today that the company had become cash-flow positive ahead of
schedule (he had originally guessed "sometime in 2010") and called the milestone important "because it sets Facebook up to be a strong independent service for the long term."

He also said Facebook is in the black as of the last fiscal quarter:Good for them. Too bad for
anyone who was hoping for an IPO.
Earlier this year, Zuckerberg also said the company expects to see 70% year-over-year revenue
growth in 2009. Facebook board member Mark Andreessen recently estimated the company would hit $500 million in revenue this year.
The site continues to expand its audience at a torrid pace, adding 50 million users just since July
and doubling in size since the start of 2009. About 70% of its users are outside the U.S.
CEO Mr.Zuckerberg said in an interview with Bloomberg last month that Facebook hoped to increase its work force by 50 percent by the end of the year, but stressed that "the thing I want to remind people of is we're way closer to the beginning than the end."

Women Lead India 3rd To The Death Journey...A Shocking Truth !!
Here, in a latest survey report, it's revealed that India holds the third position in smoking and guess who made them..Third!! None other than women of India. I must say, the power of women in India is really impressive ! Cheers to the Indian Women :)

Only the US with 2.3 crore female smokers and China with 1.3 crore women smokers are worse off than India in this chart. However, as far as percentage of women smoking is concerned, it is below 20% for India.
Among India's immediate neighbors, only Pakistan figures in this infamous list, but right at the
bottom at 20th with around 30 lakh female smokers.

According to the Atlas, about 250 million women in the world are daily smokers -- 22% being from high resource countries and 9% from low and middle resource countries.
Releasing the potential of this growing market, the Atlas said the tobacco industry has been
marketing cigarettes to women using seductive but false images of vitality, emancipation, slimness, sophistication and sexual allure.
Reacting to the report, Dr P C Gupta, director of Healis Sekhsaria Institute of Public Health, told
TOI that this finding had very serious implications for India. "Even though the percentage
prevalence of women smoking in India isn't that high, the number is huge. In addition to all the
harm that tobacco causes to men, women are additionally exposed in a special way because of their reproductive function."

gestational age leading to premature babies, increased the risk of still births and heightened
chances of anemia among adult pregnant women.
"The government isn't focusing on anti-tobacco campaign that specially targets women. Smoking is definitely increasing in young college going women showing that the tobacco industry is targeting them very strongly," Dr Gupta added.
The Atlas said tobacco killed some six million people each year -- more than a third of whom will
die from cancer -- and drained $500 billion annually from global economies.
As 25% of smokers die and many more become ill during their most productive years, income loss devastates families and communities. In 2010, 72% of those who die from tobacco related illnesses would be in low- and middle-income countries. By 2030, 83% of these deaths will occur in low and middle-income countries.
Unveiled at the Global Cancer Summit on Wednesday, the Atlas said 2.1 million cancer deaths per year will be attributable to tobacco by 2015. "The Atlas is crucial to helping advocates in every nation get the knowledge they need to combat the most preventable global health epidemic," said John R Seffrin, CEO of American Cancer Society.

Shocking Video Revealed 'Real Execution' In Srilanka : A Report
The Sri Lankan High Commission denied its army was involved in atrocities against the ethnic Tamil minority after British television aired video Tuesday allegedly showing a soldier executing two men.
Channel 4 News showed disturbing footage of a man dressed in army uniform shooting a naked, bound and blindfolded man in the back of the head, while the bodies of several other men were seen nearby in a muddy field.
Another man was also shot in the same way towards the end of the video.
Tonight, the Sri Lankan High Commission denied the government had carried out atrocities against the Tamil community.
The Sri Lankan government launched a large scale military offensive in January capturing the Tamil Tiger held town of Kilinochchi. The army then steadily pushed the rebels into an small area of the north-east.
Be warned - there are extremely disturbing scenes in this report from our foreign affairs correspondent Jonathan Miller.
The United Nations has estimated that between 80,000 and 100,000 people have been killed in Sri Lanka's drawn out Tamil separatist conflict which the security forces declared ended in May.
The decades-long ethnic conflict ended after the military took control of all rebel-held territory and killed the group's leader, Velupillai Prabhakaran.
Journalists were barred from the conflict zone in the country's northeast where rights groups said a "humanitarian crisis" unfolded without a media presence.
Sri Lanka High Commission response:-
"The High Commission of Sri Lanka categorically deny that the Sri Lankan armed forces engaged in atrocities against Sri Lankan Tamil community. They were only engaged in a military offensive against the LTTE.
"The High Commission has noted that in many instances in the past, various media institutions used doctored videos, photographs and documents to defame the Sri Lankan government and armed forces. Therefore, we request you to verify the authenticity of the video footage before the telecast".

Worst Pandemic Wave Of H1N1 - Everything You Need To Know !!
Swine influenza (also called H1N1 flu, swine flu, hog flu, and pig flu) is an infection by any one of several types of swine influenza virus. Swine influenza virus (SIV) is any strain of the influenza family of viruses that is endemic in pigs.As of 2009, the known SIV strains include influenza C and the subtypes of influenza A known as H1N1, H1N2, H3N1, H3N2, and H2N3.

The number of deaths has increased from 27 to 36 but these have not occured in the last week, rather the invesigations into whether they are related to swine flu have now been completed.
Overall two thirds of the deaths are in people with serious underlying health conditions with 12 per cent in otherwise healthy people.
A fifth of the deaths occurred in young people, aged up to 15-years and almost one in three of the deaths was in the 16 to 44 year age group.
Sir Liam said there had been slight shift in the pattern with the proportion in older people and those with more severe underlying conditions increasing slightly, but overall the numbers are small and this does not suggest the disease is changing in any way.
The number of people in hospital with swine flu has also dropped from 746 on July 29 to 530 on August 5th.

Prevention :-
Prevention of pig to human transmission
The transmission from swine to human is believed to occur mainly in swine farms where farmers are in close contact with live pigs. Although strains of swine influenza are usually not able to infect humans this may occasionally happen, so farmers and veterinarians are encouraged to use a face mask when dealing with infected animals. The use of vaccines on swine to prevent their infection is a major method of limiting swine to human transmission. Risk factors that may contribute to swine-to-human transmission include smoking and not wearing gloves when working with sick animals.
Prevention Of Human To Human Transmission
Recommendations to prevent spread of the virus among humans include using standard infection control against influenza. This includes frequent washing of hands with soap and water or with alcohol-based hand sanitizers, especially after being out in public.Chance of transmission is also reduced by disinfecting household surfaces, which can be done effectively with a diluted chlorine bleach solution.Although the current trivalent influenza vaccine is unlikely to provide protection against the new 2009 H1N1 strain, vaccines against the new strain are being developed and could be ready as early as June 2009.
Experts agree that hand-washing can help prevent viral infections, including ordinary influenza and the swine flu virus. Influenza can spread in coughs or sneezes, but an increasing body of evidence shows small droplets containing the virus can linger on tabletops, telephones and other surfaces and be transferred via the fingers to the mouth, nose or eyes. Alcohol-based gel or foam hand sanitizers work well to destroy viruses and bacteria. Anyone with flu-like symptoms such as a sudden fever, cough or muscle aches should stay away from work or public transportation and should contact a doctor for advice.
Social distancing is another tactic. It means staying away from other people who might be infected and can include avoiding large gatherings, spreading out a little at work, or perhaps staying home and lying low if an infection is spreading in a community. Public health and other responsible authorities have action plans which may request or require social distancing actions depending on the severity of the outbreak.
Treatment :-
In humans
In the U.S., on April 27, 2009, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued Emergency Use Authorizations to make available Relenza and Tamiflu antiviral drugs to treat the swine influenza virus in cases for which they are currently unapproved. The agency issued these EUAs to allow treatment of patients younger than the current approval allows and to allow the widespread distribution of the drugs, including by non-licensed volunteers.

The Global Roll-Out Of Myspace Mail

The announcement follows growing speculation that the suffering network had devised the new service in an attempt to retain its declining userbase and attract new members.
Users around the world should expect to see the service rolled out in beta over the next two weeks. The company describes the email service as blending “the best of social networking and traditional mail”.
MySpace Mail is intended to help MySpace users to communicate and share content with people both inside and outside of the MySpace network. The site’s current messaging platform accounts for almost 20 per cent of its traffic, according to the company’s own figures.
All MySpace users who have registered their own “vanity URLs”, a personal MySpace web address, have a MySpace Mail address reserved and waiting for them. For example, if a user’s profile URL is: www. Myspace.com/username, the company has reserved the following MySpace Mail address: username@myspace.com.
Users will have the option change both their URL and mail address when they set up an email account.
The new service will include a feature called Mail Activity Stream which allows users to see real-time update on their friends’ activities on MySpace, providing “a real-time snap shots of the activities of everyone in the conversation”. MySpace Mail will also allow users to embed photos, music and videos directly from their MySpace profile into their email with one click.
Users will be able to receive and send mail to anyone whether they are in the MySpace network or not, while enhanced privacy features enable users to receive mails from only their MySpace ‘friends’. There is also unlimited file storage.
MySpace Mail is reportedly being headed up by a team of ex-Hotmail employees, including former Microsoft engineer Rajit Marwah, who joined MySpace last year from Microsoft’s Messenger and Hotmail teams.
Having recently announced 720 job cuts worldwide, and fallen behind Facebook for the first time in the race to gain the most unique users, there is a widespread consensus that MySpace needs speedy strategy revamp.
New services such as this email service and the imminent UK launch of MySpace Music, the ad-funded music streaming service, are two examples of the News Corp owned network trying to reinvent itself.

The Amazing Real Life Spider-Man ..Is It A Fake ??!

And after teaching himself by watching monkeys climb trees, Jyothi has enhanced his dazzling agility using stunts from his favourite films.
He even copies some of Spider-Man's best moves, hanging upside down and jutting out at a 90 degree angle.
Jyothi said: "I began to climb for fun at the weekends and came to the famous fort here at Chitradurga to entertain the crowds, especially on Sundays.
"I love to see their faces when I position myself upside down and hear them holding their breath for my safety.
"My ability to see the foothold that others can't is proof to me that I was born to climb.
"My strength and hand speed are the tools that set me apart from other climbers."
He added: "These climbs go up to 300ft.
"They are physically testing and dangerous, but I want to move on and climb buildings and mountains."
